LLTO La Liga Picks of the Week

It’s been a stellar start so far for the Yank picking games in La Liga, but at least I’m over 50% of my total picks with a 15-9 total record after three weeks.  This weekend, much like every weekend, brings forth a batch of tough matches.  Some of the best squads will face off and a few of the worst as well.  Let’s take a look at the winners and losers, shall we?

Athletic Bilbao has squeaked by close win after close win, but this weekend they play a club that is the master of the narrow victory in Sevilla.  We like Sevilla to give Bilbao their first loss of the season with a 2-0 victory.  Barcelona on the other hand will not fall victim to their first loss and will in fact dominate Malaga on their own pitch with a 3-0 thrashing.  And speaking of thrashings how about Real Madrid against new boys Tenrife?  Madrid can score from anywhere on the field and Tenrife, well, they have scored twice.   So I think it is a safe bet to say Madrid will take this one 4-0.

In other matches the Yank likes Valencia over Atletico Madrid 3-1.  It looks like it’s not Atletico’s year.  Mallorca should win at home over Valldolid 2-1, and Espanyol should take care of lowly Xerez 2-0.  Xerez is still searching for their first goal of the year by the way.  Almeria, who only has one goal going into the week, will double that total with a 1-0 win over Racing Santander.

We also like Getafe on the road 3-1 over Real Zaragoza, Osasuna will lose at home to Sporting Gijon 0-1, and Deportivo La Coruna will not be able to handle Villarreal with a 2-1 loss at home as well.
