Sevilla has been among the world’s best this year and will likely overcome their frustrating loss last week by beating Espanyol 2-0. Atletico Madrid has had a tough start to the year and has been among the league’s biggest disappointments. Mallorca on the other hand has been a nice surprise this year and is among the teams that make up the top half of the league table. I’ll take Mallorca in this 2-1. Getafe hosts Athletico Bilbao in a match that pits two struggling teams up against one another. I like Getafe to win 2-1.
Villarreal will win a game! Maybe I didn’t take my crazy pills this week and maybe I did, but either way the Yellow Submarines will submerge to the surface and no longer be the league’s laughing stock. Villarreal beats Malaga 2-1. Racing Santander plays against Osasuna at the worst time. Osasuna is red hot right now and is coming off of a 3-0 victory last weekend. This weekend they will win 3-1 over Racing.
In our LLTO Match of the Week Sporting Gijon hosts Real Madrid. Sporting has been real hot as of late and Real Madrid is desperate to prove their Champions League loss earlier in the week a fluke. I like Madrid minus their biggest star simply because they do have that many other players around to help support the cause. Madrid wins 3-2.
As for the final four games of the weekend: Valencia will win a nailbiter against Almeria 1-0, new boys will battle it out as Tenrife will win at home over Xerez, Valladolid will lose at home against Deportivo La Coruna 2-0, and in the final match of the week Barcelona will destroy Real Zaragoza 4-0 thanks to a few goals form Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
