LLTO La Liga Picks of the Week (Nov 28-29)

Real Zaragoza-Osasuna

New boys Zaragoza have been a nice surprise so far this year and along with Osasuna it is more then likely that both squads will avoid the relegation zone by season’s end.  Of course whoever loses this week will drop a few spots, but both these squads have proven the critics wrong so far this season.

Final Predicition: Osasuna 1-0

Racing Santander-Deportivo La Coruna

Seventeenth place Racing have yet to win a home match this year and playing against fifth ranked Deportivo should not help the struggling squad.  I like Deportivo because they are also one of only five squads that has an above .500 winning percentage on the road.

Final Predicition: Deportivo 2-0

Getafe is beginning to turn some heads currently with a top ten league table ranking and I would expect the good fortunes to continue as they get an easy match against relegation bound Xerez.  Xerez only has three goals for the entire season so far.  Tottenham Hotspur of the Premier League scored three times as many goals last week alone.

Final Predicition: Getafe 1-0

Sporting Gijon-Villareal

Villareal is no longer the league’s cruel joke and the squad has picked up the pace and could be in the top ten by week’s end.  Gijon, on the other hand, have been consistent all year and look to further their climb up the league board.  The club is currently in seventh place.

Final Prediction: Sporting 2-1

Sevilla is only two points back from Barca and hoping to at least level the playing field with a victory over the weekend against last place Malaga.  and what can be said for the lowly squad?  They have one less point earned then Xerez who hardly ever scores.  This one is a drop in the bucket.

Final Prediction: Sevilla 3-0

Here is a list of the rest of the week’s matches:

Valencia 2     Mallorca 0

Athletico Madrid 2     Espanyol 1

Valladolid 2     Tenerife 0

Barcelona 3    Real Madrid 1

Almeria 1     Athletic Bilbao 0
