Deportivo La Coruna-Barcelona
Deportivo has proven to be for real so far this season and the club enters this home match losing only one out of their last five matches. Barcelona, on the other hand, has yet to lose this entire season and last week were able to hold off Real Madrid in a critical home match. Ibrahimovic has scored in consecutive matches and Messi will likely be rested with that thigh injury he sustained a few weeks back. Barcelona will remain the team to be beat all season long and a draw here should be considered a victory for Deportivo.
Final Prediction: Barcelona 3-1
Real Madrid-Almeria
Remember in the beginning of the year when Almeria was on the top half of the board and looked like a top six contender? Well those days are well into the past for the reeling squad and this week Almeria tries not to lose five out of six matches. Real Madrid looks to bounce back from last week’s tough loss to the treble winners and this home match should favor Real Madrid by at least two goals. It’s a classic case of a hot team hosting a not-so-hot team this weekend.
Final Prediction: Real Madrid 4-1
Athletic Bilbao-Valencia
Valencia has been the hottest squad in the league and they seem like nothing can stop them as of late. Well the transfer window opening in January may cause the squad to sell off some stars, but they can’t worry about that yet and need to focus on this week. They will be tested when they play Athletic Bilbao, a team that has given many other strong squads a run for theur money, but right now you can’t bet against David Villa and Valencia.
Final Prediction: Valencia 2-1
