Lazio Loses Radu For Rest Of Season

Lazio’s bid in challenging Inter Milan for the third place spot in Serie A, that gives a direct passage to the Champions League group stage, faces a tough task after the Aquile won’t be able to field all of their best players after losing main defender, Stephan Radu, due to back injury.

After having a scan earlier today, reports from Italy revealed that Radu suffered a fracture between his second and third lumbar vertebrae, this condition resulted in the club’s medical team suggesting a 30-40 days in the treatment table.

That amount of treatment will almost surely kept the Romanian international out until the rest of season, considering the fact that the Italian league only have around five matches left starting from next weekend. This will surely gives a big blow for Lazio, who will face several important matches that could really determined whether they can achieve their target in grabbing a ticket to play in the Champions League next season.

Since his arrival at Olympico, Radu has been an important part of Lazio’s defense especially this season as the player has been receiving lots of praises from many football experts and attract many big clubs’ attention. The Romanian’s versatility at the back is one of his best feature as he can play as right or left full back and also in the center of defense.

This Saturday, Lazio will face one of their important task in achieving their European football mission as the capital club set to travel at San Siro and challenge one of their Champions League rivals Inter. Despite being three points behind the Nerazzurri, a victory would take the Aquile replacing Leonardo’s team place in third position because Edy Reja’s side would have a head to head advantage over their opponent.
