Lavezzi Targets More Goals For Napoli This Season

Ezequiel LavezziAside from bringing a successful year yet again for his club, Napoli striker, Ezequiel Lavezzi, apparently stored a personal ambition for the new season as the Argentinian vowed to score more goals for his team.

Lavezzi acknowledged that considering his position as one of the Partenopei’s attacking players, he should have score more goals especially when his team plays at San Paolo, as many obviously knew that Edinson Cavani has always been the Southern Italian club’s goal machine since last season.

Lavezzi reveals that his lack of goal scoring record does annoyed him at times as it can pretty much be described as one of the things his currently lacking, although the Argentinian does offer other things on the pitch aside from goals. The Argentinia international player has been known by many football fans especially Serie A observer as one of the most dangerous attacking player in the Italian league for quite sometime now, because of his ability to influence the match and create goal scoring chances for teammates.

“I haven’t netted at the San Paolo in a long time. I am a striker and I have to score more goals. I do criticise myself a lot, but always try to be useful to the team,” Lavezzi said.

Lavezzi had the chance to immediately fulfill his dream as this Tuesday, Napoli are set to entertain Villarreal at San Paolo stadium in the Champions League and scoring against the Spain outfit would be a wonderful thing for the Argentinian. However, the Argentina international striker stated that beating the Spanish outfit remains as the main goal for the 25-years-old attacker as only by picking up victories in their home game, the Southern Italian team can open their chance in qualifying from the group-stage.

“This is a game where the three points could help us get through to the next round. This is all that we want. It’s a new experience for us, though we are aware that we can do well in this competition. It’s wonderful to think these games are seen all over the world,” Lavezzi added.
