Roberto Soldado
Soldado had a dream start to his 2009/10 season. The forward would lead Getafe to a 4-1 victory over Racing Santander. Soldado achieved the rare hat trick in the match and helped put Getafe on the right track with an away victory to start off the year. Getafe was a bubble team last year and will need a strong start to avoid the relegation zone for the remainder of the season. With 13 goals last season, 11 the year before on loan with Osasuna, Soldado looks to continue to improve his statistics as a reliable La Liga striker. With a three goal season debut, the forward got the fast start that he and his club needed this year.
Real Madrid
Early on in the first match of the season, Raul reminded fans that the club already had a great goal scorer. Then Christiano Ronaldo scored on a penalty to give the club that perfect one, two punch. If Raul and Ronaldo can both consistently get touches and put the ball into the back of the net then Real Madrid might actually be the team to beat. But in the second half the hero of Madrid’s opener would be neither of these great goal scorers. And it would not be Benzema either. Defensive midfielder Diarra would put the final winning goal into the back of the net and the club would hold onto the 3-2 lead. With all these goal scorers, it’s just not fair if defensive minded players are scoring as well.
Barcelona
Oh yeah, that guy Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored too.
