The Spanish FA made a bold decision when they decided to shift their playing dates from Saturday and Sunday to include games being played on Friday and Monday. This unorthodox move will see second division games played on Friday while the Spanish top flight matches will have one game played in the weekend and the other on Monday night.
This move comes into effect immediately with the first La liga game being played on the 15th of February. The new agreement is set to last until 2014 but there is a possibility for a 4 year extension that will see it through to 2018.
Now that we are done with the technical nature of this post, i would like to get something off my chest that is really making me worried. Ever since Kaka moved to the Santiago Bernabeu, his game has suffered incredibly. How many goals has he scored this season? Yep you get my point. Not many people can answer that.
In fact, its almost as if his game disappeared when he left Milan. Well, you can say that he has had a string of injuries that have ruled him out of for lengthy periods and that is true. But, even when injury free, the Brazilian play maker is struggling to reproduce the form that won him many admirers while with the rossoneri.
Its not that he is not a good player, on the contrary he is too good a player that him not making the headlines in sports dailies for almost 6 months is very worrying to say the least. The new “galacticos era” heralded by Florentino Perez is currently 5 points off the pace in the La Liga title race and their title hopes might be in danger if they do not improve their game fast!
