Real Madrid midfielder Kaka has been included in Coach Mano Menezes squad for Brazil’s up coming friendlies against Gabon and Egypt in November. This sees the 29 year old make a return to the Selecao after a 15 month absence.
Madrid’s past league matches have seen the midfielder give vital performances that have resulted in wins that have taken them to the top of the La Liga table. Although, not quite at his best, the inclusion of Kaka in the Brazil squad will no doubt have a tremendous effect on the entire team.
With Brazil’s entertaining style of play having taken a back seat under coach Dunga, the joga bonito style of play is sure to return to the squad once the magic quartet comprising Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Neymar starts to gel.
Here is what Menezes had to say:
“I had always said, and he was aware of it, that if [Kaka] returned to form and he started to play regularly again, he would return to the team,” Menezes said. “This is a good opportunity for that to happen.”
The complete squad for both friendlies is shown below.
Neto (Fiorentina), Diego Alves (Valencia), Dani Alves (Barcelona), Fabio da Silva (Man Utd), Alex Sandro (Porto), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Thiago Silva (AC Milan), David Luiz (Chelsea), Luisao (Benfica), Adriano (Barcelona), Lucas Leiva (Liverpool), Elias (Sporting Lisbon), Sandro (Tottenham), Luiz Gustavo (Bayern Munich), Hernanes (Lazio), Bruno Cesar (Benfica), Fernandinho (Shakhtar Donetsk), Kaka (Real Madrid), Dudu (Dynamo Kiev), William (Shakhtar Donetsk), Kleber (Porto), Jonas (Valencia), Hulk (Porto).
Just in case you are wondering why Ronaldinho, Neymar, Ganso and other players who play locally are not included, is because the Brazilian league is winding down to a close and Menezes wants to allow them to concentrate on the league.
If you are a Brazil fan, then this is fantastic news for you. Any striking line up does not get better than a Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Neymar attack does.
