The spending spree is not over at least for Juventus. The Turin club intends on reinforcing their squad once the January transfer window gets underway. This comes only days after former player Diego revealed that team mate Edin Dzeko was keen on leaving the Bundesliga for Juventus.
It is however unlikely that Dzeko will join the Bianconeri in January. Wolfsburg have placed a 30 million Euro price tag on the Bosnian international with Juve having already worked out a formula on how they intend to pay the fee.
Club General Manager Beppe Marotta has revealed that the club will be active in January.
“We will do something in January,” he said. “We’ll speak about big investments again in June. We’re on the lookout for good opportunities and I think that discreet deals can be done.
“In fact, there are important players who for one reason or another could ask to leave their actual clubs.”
“It’s not that I have no desire to name names, but the potential opportunities today might not be the same in January. We need to wait and see.”
After a tumultous start to the season, Juve have improved and now sit in 5th position in the Serie A league standings. The Bianconeri face a tricky away fixture to Bologna on Sunday. They will however, be buoyed by they recent showings in the league.
Bologna have slipped down to 16th position but they cannot be underestimated especially against the ‘giants’. Traditionlly know as a giant slayer, Bologna will want to pick up all 3 points on offer in front of their home crowd.
With Juve looking to continue where they left off a week ago, this match should provide for an entertaining encounter.
