Juventus’ Stars are Dropping Like Flies

Juventus has had the ideal start to a Serie A season.  The club is currently undefeated so far this season, in first place on the league table, and competing in the UEFA Champions League groups tables.  The club has looked like one of the best in Italy so far this season and last week they knocked off another undefeated squad on the road.

Juve’s 2-0 victory over Lazio hopefully set the tone for the legendary Italian team this season and after a few weeks of action it looked like nothing could stop the strong squad.  Well the only thing that can stop Juve right now is, well, Juve.  The club will have to prevail the next few weeks without some of their key players and I am sure the club’s medical staff has their hands full at the moment.

Aging forward Alessandro Del Piero has not gotten much playing time so far this season with a thigh problem.  The star player, and SATO Best Player 32 & Over, is among the least of the club’s concerns right now though.   The forward is expected back into the lineup in the upcoming weeks.

And although the club is n0t happy with the result, they are also not fretting over the loss of Brazilian star Diego from the lineup with a hamstring injury.  The play-maker scored two goals in a match a week back for the club, but even though the goal scorer is hampered by the injury he is also not the main concern right now.

Midfielder Fabio Cannavaro is the most serious and recent casualty of the club.  The center back also hurt his thigh in a Champions League match earlier in the week.  The midfielder is scheduled to miss up to twenty days of action meaning he will likely sit out the September 30th match against Bayern Munich.

So for Juventus to advance in the Champions League they will need the rest of their role players to step up against the Germans.
