Juventus Set Sight On Diego Forlan

Not only being the place to see exciting games from great footballing nations, the World Cup is also the stage for players to showcase their abilities to attract many clubs. It looks like the same kind of story will happen for Juventus and Diego Forlan as reports suggested the Italian giant is keen to brought the Uruguayan talisman after watching his impressive performance at the World Cup.

The Atletico Madrid striker has been one of the bright spark in this World Cup, scoring two goals and leading Uruguay’s attack alongside Edison Cavani and Luis Suarez resulting in their success topping their group in the tournament. That exciting performance shown by the former Manchester United striker, seems more than enough for the Juventus’ board to consider a move for him and to make the deal easier, they plan to offer their loaned out player who currently plays in Atletico, Thiago, as part of the deal.

Surely this deal would be sweet for Juventus and serie A as there will be another quality player playing in the league, with the fact Thiago seems settled in Atletico and Forlan’s age that has reached his 30’s the Spanish’ side would probably take the deal, especially if the Bianconeri add some cash into it. If the deal does come through, it will also be interesting in seeing the strikers that Juve will axed from the club as at the moment they actually have quite a lot of forwards on their rosters.

Despite his “not so young age”, Forlan is a really prolific and mature striker, his ability to play behind the strikers can also be a plus that Juve could really use next season. Personally I would endorse the Juventus’ management to seriously conclude the deal, as they could really use someone to replace Del Piero’s character on the squad, not to mention that their new coach, Luigi Del Neri seems keen on using an attacking player with that character just like he uses Antonio Cassano at Sampdoria.
