“I am proud of my players and of what they did tonight. We are improving a lot from a psychological point of view.” Conte said.
“We will try to take advantage of any slip-ups that Milan make, the title is Milan’s to lose, because no one else has the same personnel than they do.
“The Rossoneri are a very strong side, who won the title last season and who are first despite having had so many players injured. They are also in the race for the Champions League trophy after drawing against Barcelona, the strongest side in the world.”
Elsewhere in the league, their were huge wins for both Inter Milan and AS Roma. After nine goals and 90 minutes, Inter Milan got their first win under new coach Andrea Stramaccioni. The Nerazzuri were 5-4 winners over Genoa at the San Siro a result that was a breathe of fresh air to their fans who had to endure a poor streak under former coach Claudio Ranieri.
Speaking to the press after the match, Stramaccioni could not hide his joy at the result.
“The important thing is that we won. Certainly it was an explosive victory, “ he said.
“As for me, the president (Massimo Moratti) has given me this crazy opportunity that I didn’t deserve but him having faith in me gives me great serenity.”
Of course, the match also saw the sending off of Inter goal keep Julio Cesar and Genoa’s Fernando Belluschi. However, other than that, it was a great win for Inter.
In the capital, Roma beat bottom side Novara 5-2 as they look to secure a spot for European action next season.
