Juventus are proving that they are inters main competion for the Serie A this season. After a short string of negative results, Juve rebounded on Wednesday night by thrashing surprise package Sampdoria 5-1 in Turin.
Two of Juves goals came from Brazil born striker Amauri. Amauri who had not scored for the Old Lady since February, now has four goals in his last three games for Juventus. This is good news for the striker who is still waiting for his Italian passport and subsequent Italy call-up.
Ciro Ferraras boys seem to be making a stern statement. They want to be crowned champions this season. Napoli are next on the list and Juve know a win against them will keep them in the title race.
Meanwhile in other Serie A news,Roma forward Simone Perrotta has signed a contact extension that will keep him at the club until June 2011. Reports suggest that he will receive 3.1 million Euros for the 2010-2011 campaign plus other incentives if the club meets its goals for the season.
Roma have also confirmed that David Pizarro will stay at the club until June 2013. Elsewhere, in other Serie A weekend fixtures, Parma visit Milan at the San Siro on Saturday while Lazio travel to bottom club Siena. Roma who were beaten 2-1 by Udinese will meet Bologna with skipper Totti still out with an injury.
