Juve Start Impressive But Will It Last?

Juve’s 2-0 home win over Livorno kept them at position 2 in the table and ensured their impressive start to the Serie A continued. 4 wins from 4 games gave the Turin club one of their best starts in the league in a long time.

I wonder though, if this momentum will keep the Turin outfit in the title race come May next year. On-fire striker Vicenzo Iaquinta’s header in the 8th minute seemed to cool off the Tuscans who had begun the match better. The Bianconeri however, have Italy number 1 to thank for keeping yet another clean sheet.

The three main clubs in the title race for the scudetto are Inter, Juventus and Milan. Juve have lifted this trophy a record 28 times and they will be looking to add to it this season. However both Milan clubs are hot on their heels with both gaining narrow victories over the weekend.

A brace from Argentine international Diego Milito in the span of 4 minutes was enough to give Inter a win over Cagliary, while a 74th minute goal from Clarence Seedorf gave Coach Leonardo his second win of the season. Milan are now slowly moving up the table. Other score from the weekend include:

  • Chievo Verona 3 Genoa 1
  • Sampdoria 4 Siena 1
  • Bari 4 Atalanta 1
  • Catania 1 Lazio 1
  • Parma 1 Palermo 0
