Juventus desires back their usual place in the top four this season and club’s front office recently stressed that they will do anything and everything they can to assure that this happens. The club’s general manager Beppe Marotta said that “discreet deals” will be done this January, but the Italian official did admit that the big long term investments would likely remain until the end of the season in the summer.
Marotta has rejuvenated Juve and the general manager is already responsible for bringing in the side’s two joint scoring leaders this league season in Milos Krasic and Fabio Quagliarella. Marotta also brought in midfielder Alberto Aqualini on loan from Liverpool this season and also a new coach Luigi Del Neri. Currently the Italian side is in fifth place and is only a single point out of the top four. They also have scored more goals then any other Serie A side so far this season.
Marotta made the following statement suggesting that his club was eager to sign an important player that is potentially being overlooked by their current club:
We will do something in January. We’ll speak about big investments again in June. We’re on the lookout for good opportunities and I think that discreet deals can be done. In fact, there are important players who for one reason or another could ask to leave their actual clubs.
And Manchester City forward Emmanuel Adebayor’s name has come up often in this conversation about Juventus transfer rumors and considering the Togo man is beginning to welcome the idea I’d say that their is a very good possibility of this happening. As Marotta said you never know who will be available down the road, but expect somebody of note to be joining the top four hopefuls for the second half of the season.
