Joan Laporta is confident in signing Fabregas

Having already signed Spanish striker David Villa from Valencia in the summer transfer window, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is confident that Arsenal will eventually give in and let Cesc Fabregas make his way back to the club in which he started his career with.

Cesc Fabregas made his way through the youth ranks of  Barcelona before having moved to north London in which his career went on to sky-rocket at Arsenal and became captain of the Gunners squad. Although Arsene Wenger is still showing no sign of letting Cesc Fabregas go as he is to much of  a valuable player to the club, Laporta is still confident in Fabregas finding his way to Camp Nou.

Joan Laporta went on to say the following :

“Arsenal will end up giving in, but I don’t know when that will be. We will have to wait and let the professionals who are taking care of it do their work.” – reported from reports of ‘Sant Guim de Freixenet’

Although Laporta is set to leave the club at the of June, Laporta is not sure if a deal can be met before new Barcelona president, Sandro Rosell, arrives at the club.

Laporta went on to say the following on the club’s official site :

“If it’s not us, it will be up to the new board, if they consider it appropriate, to carry on along this road.”

If Barcelona are able to sign Fabregas from Arsenal, Barca are set to have a team full of Spanish all-stars as they already field players such as Pique, Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi, Villa and others as well.

In addition of trying to acquire the service of Cesc Fabregas, rumors are also starting to surface that the club is looking into signing Fernando Torres from Liverpool FC as well.
