Although Sevilla winger, Jesus Navas, was expected to make a return to the pitch soon, it seems that the Spanish’s club will be seeing him take more time off due to his ankle problems.
After having already missed the past 6 weeks of action, the club has confirmed that the Spanish winger will need to undergo surgery in order to cure his ankle problem.
Out of action since September, Navas hasn’t seen the field since their 1 – 0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain. With the original problem haven thought to be a minore bone isse, it seems that the club’s worse fears have been confirmed as Navas will now need surgery to fix the problem.
Jesus Navas was excited to be back in training with the club last week and although many fans were hoping that his services would be back, Dr. Mikel Sanchez, has confirmed that only a surgery will fix his ankle problems. The operation is said to most likely take place next week and the 25-year-old is expected to be out of action, again, until the winter break. It was devastating news to Sevilla coach, Gregorio Manzano, as he was hoping to welcome back Navas sooner.
A statement from the official Sevilla website read the following:
“Jesus Navas will be out for a number of weeks.”
