Briefing: Agent Daniele De Rossi (aka “The Elbow”) has served the MNT on more than 40 missions and has established himself as a fixture for the squad in midfield. He did not play as big a role in Mission 2006 as expected due to disciplinary problems, but all recent indicators suggest he will be one of the agency’s leaders during Mission 2010.
Special Skills: Agent De Rossi is a rare one-club man, having played his entire career for Roma. Like all good Italian midfielders, Agent De Rossi is well known for his defensive prowess and ability to spark a counter-attack. Though he does not score often, he does have amazing vision on the pitch and is reputed to be on of Serie A’s best assist men.
International Actions: Agent De Rossi has been a member of the MNT since 2004 and he contributed to the squad’s successful Mission 2006. During an early match, he notoriously bloodied a member of the enemy US MNT and was not allowed to play again until the Final. He did appear in the Final where he notched one of the MNT’s PKs.
Mission: Agent De Rossi’s mission, should he decide to accept it, will be to help the MNT score goals during Mission 2010. When former Agent Totti left the team after Mission 2006, he passed the legendary #10 jersey on to Agent De Rossi. Now the question is whether he can earn that important honor. This message will self destruct in five seconds.
