There is no doubt that Mario Balotelli is a talented player and that Manchester city might be on the verge of signing a future star. However, his transfer from European champions Inter Milan seems to be taking a different direction every single day.
A deal with the EPL club has not been agreed on despite his agent stating that everything would be complete by Tuesday this week. Inter president Massimo Moratti also revealed yesterday that his club has received a number of offers for the 19 year old.
“Balotelli remains a great talent, but for us it’s almost an obligation to let him go,” Moratti told Sky in an interview.
“We have some important offers for him, and we also have some economic objectives. Therefore, you choose to make sacrifices with players other teams are asking for, rather than those you are looking to sell and nobody wants.”
However, Balotelli’s move could give way for the emergence of yet another Inter star. PhIlippe Countinho is a name that not to many people are familiar with however, it is one name you are likely to get acquainted with once the Italian Serie A campaign gets underway.
The 18 year old attacking midfielder is yet another star that has emerged from this talent rich country. Coutinho was signed by Inter Milan in the summer of 2008 for 3.8 million Euros however, he remain with the club until the expiration of his loan deal in June 2010.
With the Nerazzurri currently on tour in the USA, a lot of expectation is rife that the teenager will be given some playing time in Inter’s highly awaited clash with Manchester city. However, do not take my word for it. Watch the video below to judge for yourself.
