Inter Milan can take away a little bit of their unclarity situation at the camp with a friendly pre-season title after winning the annual triangle 45-minutes Trofeo TIM against the likes of Juventus and Ac Milan, held at San Nicola, Bari.
The Nerazzurri opened their first victory in the tournament beating Juventus 6-5 from the penalty shoot out after both teams drew 1-1 in 45 minute, in the Derby, Inter were victorious as well with Diego Milito scoring the only goal in that second 45.
Inter and Juventus started the Trofeo TIM and both teams looking really eager to test out some important players, the Bianconeri looked more lively in this tie as they probably had more first team player on the field than Inter. Mirko Vucinic opens the scoring for Antonio Conte’s team in the ninth minute after spurring the offside trap before beating Luca Castelazzi on Inter’s goal, Andrea Pirlo played in important part on the goal as he was then one giving Vucinic the assist.
The Old Lady’s wastefulness in front of the goal hit them back in the 16th minute after Andrea Ranocchia equalized for Inter, after the defender smoothly heading Wesley Sneijder’s corner kick into Juve’s net guarded by Marco Storari. The match gets pretty even out after that although Juventus had more of the possession and arguably had more goal scoring chances than Inter but in the end the two team have to settle for a draw and things gets concluded in the penalty shoot out where the Nerazzurri went victorious after only having one kicker missing, while Juve have two players hitting the bar.
Losing the opening game, Juventus have to play again for the second match, which is a 45 minute encounter against a mix Ac Milan side led by Italian international striker, Antonio Cassano up front. The Rossoneri who started out with a make shift midfield along with several u-19 players actually dominated the game, resulting in a goal from Cassano in the 13 minute, slotting in the ball easily pass Storari after beating Leonardo Bonucci with an ease.
After missing several goal scoring chances, a mistake from their third goal keeper, Flavio Roma, forced Milan to concede a goal after Juventus’ new signing Arturo Vidal scored from a long range shot, which should have been parried away by Roma. The match looked pretty even in terms of goal scoring chances after Juve’s equalizer, but the Old Lady were the luckier out of the two teams as Alessandro Matri managed to score in the last minute of the 45, after peeling away from Alessandro Nesta’s marking, the striker headed Vidal’s through ball beating Roma stranded in goal.
After Juventus-Milan tie, the final 45 minute game was a Milanese Derby, where Inter got their Super Cup revenge, although it was in a pretty questionable way as the Rossoneri fielded another mix-team on the pitch. Despite playing without their best line-up, Milan still managed to trouble Inter as the Red and Black team almost took the lead after Urby Emanuelson was sent through in a one on one situation with Castelazzi by Cassano but the Dutch midfielder simply waste the goal scoring chance.
Diego Milito had his free-kick hitting the bar in the other end but after that the Rossoneri once again should have open the score as Kingsley Boateng, who was unmarked failed to direct his header from Abate’s cross, allowing Castelazzi making a wonderful save in the end. The evenly contest finally had an edge after Inter scored through Milito, who managed to break away from Massimo Oddo and Daniele Bonera’s marking and beating Marco Amelia on Milan’s goal after receiving Esteban Cambiasso’s free kick. Although the Rossoneri had some chances notably from 18-years-old Simone Andrea Ganz, Inter managed to secure their defense in that 45 minute, sealing the 1-0 victory along with the Trofeo TIM cup this year.
