It looks like the transfer story of Inter Milan’s Brazilian international, Maicon, with Real Madrid will continue in the upcoming January transfer window as the latest report suggested that the deal happen this winter.
Italian media revealed that the right back who has been feeling disgruntled with his current contract with Inter is still looking for a way out from San Siro and re-join his former coach, Jose Mourinho at Madrid.
Rumors in Italy also claim that in order to help his wish in going to Madrid, Maicon has already changed his agent from Antonio Caliendo to Mino Raiola, who has been known for his ability to help his client moves to clubs the players wants to play in. This season, the agent has already managed to help two of his clients, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli moves from their respective teams. However, the truth about that rumors are still unknown as up till know it is still being denied by Raiola himself.
Although Inter’s president, Massimo Moratti, is very keen in keeping the Brazilian at the Nerazzurri this season, it seems that he cannot really hold the right back much longer if the player already carrying his disappointment on the field. The 29-years-old player hasn’t been performing as good as he used too lately and according to Caliendo few days ago, the main reason for that is because of the Italian giant’s refusal in selling the defender to Madrid last summer despite the long negotiation they had.
Should Inter decide to finally sell Maicon to the Spanish giant’s, the treble winning side reportedly won’t just give an easy ride for Madrid as the Nerazzurri also wants Karim Benzema as an exchange for the right back. This swap deal is actually a very possible thing considering previous reports stating that Benzema isn’t actually being favored by Mourinho to be the leading man at Los Blancos’ front line this season.
It should be interesting to see the seriousness of this rumors as despite all of the pluses that both teams can get, there are also other things that made the deal would be hard to be done in January. One of the things that could troubled the swap deal is the fact that both players have played in the Champions League group stage this season for their teams, this can prevent them for playing in the competition should the move in January.
