Having already appointed Gian Piero Gasperini as their new coach, Inter Milan looks set to start their transfer market going as the latest reports suggested that they are very close in capturing Argentinian midfielder, Ricky Alvarez.
This recent news comes what a rather surprising since Alvarez was heavily linked with a move to premiership side, Arsenal, but Italian paper, Corriero dello Sport, claimed that the Nerazzurri have successfully stolen the Velez Sarsfield star.
The reports stated that Inter are preparing to shell out around 12 million Euro to Velez for the midfielder’s service next season, giving a five year contract that worth around 1,2 million Euro per season. This offer reportedly are enough to shrug off Arsenal’s bid as the Nerazzurri’s strong South American influence seems like a plus point that influence the player’s final decision choosing his European destination.
Aside from Inter and Arsenal, Alvares is also being approached by several other top clubs such as As Roma and Napoli, not only because is fine performance in the Argentinian league but also because the creative midfielder have an European passport, which makes things easier for him to play in Europe. Moreover, with a relatively reasonable price for an Italian team, the transfer could actually turn into a very good move for the Nerazzurri, as they doesn’t seem eager to splash crazy amount in the last couple seasons.
Although reports stated that the deal could be made official in the next few days, there’s always a strong possibility that anything could happen considering how close Arsenal was in actually sealing Alvarez’s signature. However, should Inter really managed to acquire the Argentinian midfielder, it would definitely be interesting to seen on whether the 24-years-old could make a good impact with the Nerazzurri, just like most of Argentinian players that the club have.
