Rumors about the potential departure of Samuel Eto’o from Inter Milan surfacing heavily again in recent days after Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala made an official offer to the Nerazzurri which apparently is being considered by the club’s management.
Confirmed by their president, Massimo Moratti, the fate of Eto’o hangs in the balance at the moment as Moratti stated that the Russian club’s offer is interesting and things are currently being negotiated whether they would accept or not.
The offer can be described as interesting, intelligent, congruous and worthy of the player. I won’t judge whether it qualifies as an ‘indecent’ offer or not, but I can say it is intelligent and equal to the value of the player. We will evaluate the offer along with Eto’o and our directors in the next few days,” Moratti stated.
This statement surely isn’t comforting for Inter fans as it’s strongly indicating that Eto’o might be leaving the club, something that would make the tifosi disappointed especially since they could still lose Wesley Sneijder as well. Surely losing two important players in the same summer isn’t something that would make any supporters delighted, despite there’s off course a big chance the Nerazzurri are already preparing alternatives should those two stars departs.
The conditions regarding Eto’o seems a bit vivid at the moment especially after the Inter management clearly admitting that there’s a real negotiation for the Cameroon international striker. Reports from Italy claiming this situation came up after the player is asking for a much better payment in the new contract deal that the Nerazzurri are planning to offer, considering the striker already cost a lot, the club’s management doesn’t seem interested in agreeing with the striker’s wishes.
Moreover, rumors also stated that Anzhi made a 30 million Euro offer along with a staggering 17 million wages per/year, something which surely attracted both Eto’o and also Inter Milan. Considering the fact that the Cameroon international is already reaching his 30’s, cashing him out for a big offer could actually helps Inter financially, especially since it would also free up the huge wages bill that the Nerazzurri’s having with keeping Eto’o and his huge salary.
