Ibrahimovic Does It Again

It is very obvious that Milan need a replacement for Filippo Inzaghi. The only question is who will it be? According to Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani, the Rossoneri will only sign on a new player if it is urgent.

I do understand Galliani’s caution. Just this summer Milan made two big purchases that seem to be paying off well. Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Brazilian wonder boy Robinho were both snapped up by the Italian giants in a bid to bolster their attack and end arch rivals Inter Milan’s dominance.

Last night, thrashed Brescia 3-0 to keep them top of the Serie A table. On the score sheet were usual culprits Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho and scoring his first goal for the red and blacks was Ghanaian Kevin Prince Boateng.

Once again Allegri opted to start Ronaldinho on the bench as he kept faith with a line up that is slowly starting to become his first 11. Speaking to SkySport Itali, Allegri praised his side for their professionalism.

“It was an important display tonight,”

“The most important thing was winning and we did that with a professional performance. We weren’t concerned about the standing and will continue to think solely about our duty as we look to remain top in the coming weeks.

“It is a very competitive championship this season and for sure with 33 points we won’t win much. There is still much work to do and we must continue on this path without worrying about our rivals.”

Allegri is right, its still a far way off before anyone can write off defending champions Inter Milan, Juventus,Roma or Lazio. However, Milan have made an impressive start to their scudetto campaign.

Now, Back to the Inzaghi saga. If these results are anything to go by, then Milan will not need to buy any new players in January. In fact, Milan can confidently wait on their other super striker Pato to recover from his injury.

A Pato, Robinho, Ibrahimovic strike partnership will truly be the envy of other Serie A teams and a nightmare for defenders.
