Would it be nice to live next to world class footballer? Or even better having them as a personal friend? Well, not many of us are that lucky but the few who are do make the most of their opportunity or is it the other way round?
Anyway, AC Milan’s Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic offered the son of his builder the chance of a lifetime. Erik Kristjansson was out having a kickout with Ibra as his father was busy working on his house.
The 16 year old teenager impressed Ibra so much that he offered him a chance to go on trial with the Italian giants. Speaking to a local paper, Kristjansson’s joy was evident.
“Zlatan came out and said, ‘How would you like to try playing for Milan?’, We said, are you joking, and he said it was no joke. We couldn’t believe it. It’s like a fairy tale. I’m a bit nervous, but football is Erik’s life and as a father, how could I say no to an opportunity like this.”
“My life is football and this is the chance of a lifetime, “I don’t know when I’m coming home. Hopefully never.”
Just one question though. Is it that easy to get a chance to go on trial with possibly one of the biggest teams in the world? If things do go well for Eric, then this could be one of the few stories of this nature that we hear about.
