Liverpool coach Roy Hodgson has ruled out a move for AC Milan’s star midfielder Ronaldinho. The 30 year old Brazilian has continually been linked with a move away from the San Siro with Liverpool, Palmeiras and LA Galaxy showing a keen interest in the forward.
Hodgson also denied that the Reds will be buying any new players in the January transfer window. Speaking to reports concerning the up coming transfer window, Hodgson also made it clear that he had no intention of signing Ajax’s striker Luis Suarez.
“Ronaldinho and Suarez are players who we have never even thought about but I would think there is not a manager in the Premier League who has not given Ashley Young a thought at some stage or another,”
With the latest round of rumours amounting to nothing, it will be interesting to see how Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri responds to the Dinho saga.
Much like Ancelotti, Allegri is finding it hard to play Ronaldinho no matter how hard he tries to impress. And being the gentleman that he is, Ronaldinho has never questioned Allegri’s actions. The forward has even publicly stated that he accepts the decision of the coach.
This however, will not go down well with his fans many of who believe that the midfielder should be played in every Milan match. To make it worse for the Brazilian, despite Milan getting on the record saying that he won’t be leaving, they have failed to offer him a new contract. thereby raising the possibilities of him leaving the club next summer.
Milan’s next game will be away to Bologna Fc and after both Robinho and Dinho failed to click on Wednesday, Allegri will most probably resort to benching the star player.
The Rossoneri currently lead the Serie A table with 33 points and are followed by Lazio who have 30 points while Juventus have 27 points. Its only 15 games into the season, however, if Milan can maintain this momentum, then they should be favourites to win the league.
