Fiorentina who were looking to keep the pressure on League leaders inter by wining were the first to open the scoring thanks to an Alberto Gilardino 25th minute header. It did not take long for Parma to respond as Nicola Amoruso leveled just 5 minutes later. Fiorentina playing in front of a crowd of just 25,000 went behind in the 53rd minute after sensational forward Valeri Bojinov tapped in the ball from a free-kick.
Gilardino looked to have earned his side a point in the 62nd minute when he headed the ball past Antonio Mirate into the bottom corner of the net. However, Parma were not done and just five minutes later, Davide Lanzafame acted on a pin-point Christian Panucci cross to poke in the winner.
Fiorentina were left pondering their missed chances and to make matters worse for the Viola, their defender Marco Donadel was sent off in the dying minutes of the game for getting a second yellow card.
The action however continues today as both Juventus and AC Milan take to the pitch. Juventus host 14th placed Udinese while Milan should have no problem seeing off Cagliari.
