Napoli’s star midfielder, Marek Hamsik, still haven’t close down the idea of leaving Napoli for Ac Milan in the summer as in a recent interview, the Slovakian revealed that playing for the Rossoneri would really be a huge improvement for his career.
Hamsik feels that he really wants to win something in his footballing career and the player believes that joining a bigger and steady team like Milan would give him that opportunity, especially since the fashion capital side are also keen on his service.
“It’s difficult to predict when is the right time to leave. I have grown a lot with Napoli in these past few years. I’m young, but I still haven’t won anything. Not a League championship, not a cup competition. I would say that it’s time to win something now,” said Hamsik. “Massimiliano Allegri and [Vice-President] Adriano Galliani have praised me and joining Milan would be the turning point of my career.”
Despite of having an interest of joining Milan, Hasik understand that Napoli are not keen on selling him as he is being considered as one of the important players in the club especially by the Partenopei’s president, Aurelio De Laurentis. However, considering the fast pace of the transfer market this days, anything could happen, although Galliani has been stating on numerous occasion that he would never try to disturb De Laurentis by asking him to release Hamsik, as both have a really good relationship.
“It’s true that President Aurelio De Laurentiis doesn’t want to sell me, but nothing is for certain. I speak to him regularly – he’s fun and generous. I can talk to him about anything,” Hamsik added.
Should Hamsik’s recent statement turned out to be true, than it may finally open the potential transfer from Napoli towards Milan as the Southern Italian club may feel that the player has already set his heart in moving away instead of staying. However, selling an important player such as the Slovakian would definitely decreased the Partenopei’s strength next summer especially in their Champions League journey, where having as many as quality would be the only way they can stay as long as possible in the competition.
One thing for sure, Hamsik has pretty much guaranteed that should he doesn’t move to Milan this summer, he most likely won’t be going anywhere else and stay at Naples as the player revealed his wish to stay in Serie A. This decision pretty much closed down the chance for foreign clubs such as Manchester City and Manchester United in getting the player since unless there’s something unusual arrived, the Slovakian international won’t even be thinking of playing outside Italy for the current time.
