Napoli’s star, Marek Hamsik, has just signed a new contract with his team despite many interest from bigger clubs are coming since last summer and most likely will arrive again next season.
Apparently those interest still doesn’t attract Hamsik, who revealed to the press that his trust on the Partenopei’s future project is one of the main reasons for his extension aside from his joy of playing in the club.
In order to mark his new contract, Hamsik also shared his targets for this season which is finishing on third spot by the end of season and also winning the Italian Cup to finally give a long awaited titles for Napoli faithful. The Slovakian international even vowed to cut his hair should his team managed to grab the Copa by the end of season, an interesting revelation indeed but it was something that he has already done in previous seasons.
“I signed because I believe in Napoli and I’m happy here. Would I prefer third place or the Coppa Italia? I want it all! It’s a shame we went out of the Champions League, but we did well in that competition and want to continue that next season.nIf we win the Coppa Italia, I pledge to cut off my hair,” Hamsik said.
Meanwhile, regarding the current tough competition in grabbing the third spot in Serie A, Hamsik claimed that there’s no particular competitors that fears him as he believes in his team’s strength more than anything. The Slovak international stated that Napoli must not think about other teams results and simply just focus on getting victories on their last four games as if they can win them all, third place would definitely be within grasp.
“Who do I fear for third place? I only look at Napoli and not the other sides. If we do well, get good results and even win all of them, then we can do it. We’ve got to look only at ourselves. The victory over Novara gave us strength and the one with Lecce was even more important,” Hamsik added.
