Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik is one of those young coveted Serie A players drawing interest from several major leagues including a few EPL squads. The underrated Slovakian national team star plays attacking midfield, so scoring goals comes about as regularly as setting them up for the midfielder that is more of a forward by his league’s side design. And playing such a position is always considered valuable considering how few elite players dedicate their time to the attacking midfield position, most would rather play up top.
So at 23 years of age Hamsik is considered by many critics the games next great attacking midfielder. But the good news for Napoli fans is that the young scoring sensation is not going anywhere. Hamsik recently agreed in principle to a new three year deal that will keep him with the Serie A club until June of 2015. That means that the Man U’s of the world will have to wait awhile if they want to sign the man with the famous Bart Simpson hairdo.
And Hamsik is excited about the proposition of remaining with the same side for many more years to come:
I am delighted with this contract renewal. I always said that I feel really good in Naples, it’s a city that I love. I have a good relationship with the club, we have an important project and all of us want to achieve big aims.
And the young Slovakian isn’t the only one who is excited about the new deal. Club president Aurelio De Laurentiis expects the whole franchise to grow alongside his budding star of the midfield. De Laurentiis made the following statement about his excited state now that Hamsik has agreed to a new deal:
I am very happy that Marek has wanted to tie his future to the colours. His renewal is proof that Napoli want to grow alongside our talented players in order to achieve the aims that our fans deserve.
