Guardiola Hail's Barcelona Attitude After Mallorca Win

Barcelona picked up another victory on Saturday to keep their trail with Real Madrid remain on six points, aside from the 2-0 success, one thing that Barca coach, Josep Guardiola, strongly credited his team’s is their attitude.

Barcelona once again were forced to play with 10 men against Mallorca as Thiago Alcantara received a marching order in the second half, but it didn’t disturb the team’s shape as they even managed to double their lead after the sending off.

Guardiola looked to give a little ‘jibe’ towards their rival, Real Madrid, by stating that going a man down didn’t made them complain or lose shape as the Catalan players decided to work even harder instead of complaining. The tactician also gave praises towards his players especially those who managed to cover some of the absentees and playing in every role needed in order to help the team win matches.

“Despite everything, with our effort and not complaining, we came out ahead and we won. we didn’t complain when we were down to 10 men, we worked harder. we have players with the ability to help the team. Not for their good, but for others. We’re very fortunate that we have these players with us.”

The coach also stated that nearing the end of this season, he believes his players can give their all and focus on getting positive results in all competitions until the last day. However, Guardiola did admitted that his team’s performances especially in the league haven’t really been that brilliant especially in the first part of season when their players seemed to lose a little bit focus in some matches.

“We have always had a hard time. In these last four years, where we’ve won almost everything, we’ve been exemplary. At the beginning, the season seems very long and you let yourself go a bit, and our opponents aren’t forgiving. We’re at the end now and we know it. You can’t measure effort, we either all work for the same goal or we won’t make it. The players have put in a tremendous amount of effort,” Guardiola added.

Barcelona will be back on action this midweek as they travel to Milano and challenge Italian champion Ac Milan once again in the Champions League after both teams already met in the group stage this season. It would be another tough game indeed for the Catalan army, a situation which might affect their upcoming performances in the league, which has been pretty impressive recently.
