Barcelona’s coach, Josep Guardiola, is looking forward to see a tough battle against Ac Milan on Wednesday as the tactician believed that the Italian side will put up an excellent effort despite of their injury problems.
Guardiola doesn’t want to underestimate the Rossoneri side, who the tactician considered as one of the best teams in the world that possessed quality superstars such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which could easily decide the game.
The tactician also revealed that they must be in the best psychological shape to knock out Milan in the two leg tie, adding that if they’re not giving their all, the Catalan obviously will be booted out by the Italian champion. Furthermore, Guardiola also explained that his team will be playing with their basic tactic and try to control the match like they always do, although he can’t guarantee that they can stop the Rossoneri in creating goal scoring chances.
I expect the best possible Milan, as they have many options and will play to win. They are among the best teams in the world and have some excellent players, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic. “If we don’t perform against Milan in the quarter-finals, we won’t qualify. Both these sides have great champions, so the team with the most psychological strength over the two legs will qualify. We want to take control of the game and hold on to it in every moment,” Guardiola stated.
Moreover, aside talking about his team’s chances against Milan, in the press conference ahead of the match, Guardiola also had the time to give some fine words towards Ibrahimovic, who leave the club after having some issues with the Spanish tactician. The former Barca B tactician revealed that during his time with the Catalan, Ibra is a very important player for the side and obviously gave plenty help for the club’s success in winning trophies that season.
“Ibra had an extraordinary year in Barcelona, helping us in the Liga and the Champions League. Without him we would not have achieved everything we did. He has always done well in every club and I have fond memories of his time at Barça.
