Galliani Outlines Milan’s Future Ambition

Camiseta conmemorativa del MilánThe bitterness of going out rather soon from the Champions League in the last couple seasons seems to become an irritating thing for Ac Milan as next season they are planning to built a much more competitive team for the coveted European competition.

This planning was being confirmed by the club’s vice president, Adriano Galliani, who rued their failure to beat Tottenham Hotspurs this season and promised the fans that the Rossoneri will be better next summer.

Galliani suggested that after making a spending spree this season, they will still be investing next summer as Milan set to chase several players that can complete the team in terms of challenging in all competition once again. However, the vice director also confirmed that beside making some purchases, the Rossoneri will also sell several players as well because the team are a bit crowded at the moment as Massimiliano Allegri have a roster consisting over 31 players.

We want to get back to winning ways in Europe, After winning the championship we will then try to do the same in the Champions League. It went badly for us against Tottenham this season. Let’s hope we have fewer injury problems next term,” Galliani stated. “One thing is for sure, we will have to reduce our squad because 31 players are too much. They will have to become 25 or 26.”

First thing first though, Milan’s officials have already revealed that their upcoming summer plan will be talked about after the team clinched the Scudetto title that is very close as the Rossoneri are only one point away from securing their 18th Scudetto this season. A lapse of concentration could pretty much ruin the Rossoneri’s title challenge this season, as although on paper they won’t have any problem getting at least a point from their upcoming three matches, still getting complacent would be unacceptable considering they are not there yet.

Milan could very well clinch the title this Saturday when they travel to Olympico and play As Roma, getting a draw on that game is more than enough to seal their 18th title as even if their closest rival, Inter Milan, won again this weekend, the Rossoneri still have enough points along with head to head record over their neighbor. However, since the capital team are also hungry for points at the moment, the upcoming tie won’t be easy that’s why it’s important for Allegri’s team to keep their focus solely in finishing the season before thinking about summer plan.
