Just as when the dark cloud seems to vanish from Fiorentina’s camp after they managed to pick up their first win in the league against Parma last weekend, another bad news just hit the Florence based club.
The unpleasant reports is about the current condition of their new signing, Gaetano D’Agostino, who according to the media will be out for much more longer than it was previously expected.
The Italian press revealed that D’agostino who has already missed three Fiorentina’s latest matches because of recurring knee injury won’t be back until October despite previous prediction that stated he could return sooner. Apparently the problem with the former Udinese player was caused by the Operation that he did on his knee last February, the doctors believed that there’s been something wrong with the surgery and something needs to be corrected.
The positive thing from D’ago’s condition is the fact that he doesn’t need to do another operation to fix his knee as after seeing a specialist in Barcelona, the player was told getting a specific recovery progam should to the trick. According to additional reports, the programs that the ex-As Roma youth product required will make him leave the field for about two weeks, meaning the player won’t be back until mid-October.
Fortunately for Fiorentina, should the program really works on time and D’agostino can be back in October than the player won’t actually missed lots of matches because there will be a short break next month due to International fixtures. D’ago might just make it when the league resume again on October 16, or at least he can already start training again with his teammates by that time.
D’agostino who was bought by the Viola this season can already be considered as an important player for Fiorentina as he has the skill and quality to lift up the club’s playing. Aside from missing the 28-years-old midfielder, this season the Florence based club also lost some other important names from the start of the league, such as Adrian Mutu and Stevan Jovetic, the latter won’t be back until next year.
Meanwhile, regarding the news about Jovetic’s condition, the latest report stated that the talented 20-years-old is hoping that he can started playing again just before the season ends in March 2011. Although he can’t confirm anything as just yet, Jojo is committed that he will be working hard to achieve his target.
“I will do everything to be on the pitch in March, Jovetic said to the press. “Mihajlovic keeps calling me to find out how I am doing. I would like to thank him for that.”
