Cesc Fabregas is one of the hottest young players in the world of football. The midfielder is the focal point to Arsenal’s offense this season and the Spanish national team star is also on pace to win the honor of Most Valuable Player for his top four club. And with all the injuries Arsenal has endured this season up top, it has been Fabregas who has stepped up and been the offensive leader of nearly every statistic. And when you are as good as Fabregas is then rival clubs in other leagues take notice.
Fabregas is a former member of Barcelona as a minor and moved over to Arsene Wenger’s side in his teenage years. Since his arrival in England the Spanish midfielder has become a top notch critical player that just might be one of the best (or the best) in the world by the start of the 2014 World Cup. And Barcelona certainly realizes this as much as anyone.
Here is what Fabregas had to say about the city of Barcelona and a potential move one day:
I’ve never hidden that one day I will return to Barcelona. Since I was nine months old, my grandfather and I never stopped going to the stadium and have always worn Blaugrana colours. For one reason or another I had to leave, but you never know what can happen. Nobody has to tell me that Barcelona is the best city in the world to live and the quality of life that is there. I know perfectly. I don’t like the weather of London, but as a city it is spectacular. But when I retire I will live in Barcelona.
