Inter Milan striker, Samuel Eto’o simply denied the recent rumors claiming his plan to leave the Nerazzurri by revealing that he is fully committed to Inter as the club president, Massimo Moratti, is really keen on the player’s stay.
Eto’o revealed that the talks regarding his future has actually started right after the Copa Italia final as at that time, Moratti already asked the ex-Barcelona striker to stay at San Siro for the upcoming season.
“The newspapers say I’m leaving Inter? I spoke to President Massimo Moratti after the Coppa Italia Final victory against Palermo,” “When the President speaks, I can only say yes,” Eto’o stated.
This words seems to temporarily cools down the talks of Eto’o considering a move away from the Nerazzurri especially after there has been uncertainties at the club earlier after Leonardo suddenly left and was replaced by Gian Piero Gasperini. The Cameroon international look eager to see whether he could still be considered as an important part of the first team under the new coach, who could still try to buy more new players that he prefers for his team.
Nevertheless, Eto’o already feels the enthusiasm working with the new coach as the Cameroon stated that he is very eager to start the new season and give all the best again for the Nerazzurri fans, who have been very supportive to the club. The Cameroon international added that the first training session that Inter had was also a pretty good one and he also confirmed that his condition is on top shape at the moment without any worrying status, which is definitely a good sign for Inter as they have to prepare pretty early for a competitive game against Ac Milan in the upcoming Italian Super Cup in early August.
“It went pretty well(the first pre-season training). It was quite hot, but never as bad as in Milan right now. I am in good shape and we have the right atmosphere to start a difficult season,” Eto’o added. “We are all really eager to repay the enthusiasm of the fans by winning on the field.”
