AOL Sports last week reported that the new MLS franchise in Seattle will be named the Emerald City Greens. No doubt someone in Seattle is a huge fan of The Wizard of Oz (is it Drew Carey or Paul Allen). I wonder which one of Dorothy’s friends will be the mascot?
If this is true, it will go down as the worst name in the history of U.S. sports.
