A common saying we have all heard time and time again is don’t believe everything you read, well, this saying best describes Edin Dzeko’s proposed transfer from German club Wolfsburg to Italian giants Juventus. After apparently reaching terms with Juventus, the 26 year old Bosnian striker has now gone back on his word saying that he has no intention of leaving the former champions.
Speaking to Eurosport, Dzeko was quoted as saying that he feels there is no use in seeking a transfer.
“I am not a guy to give people stress,
“After the club made the decision (not to allow a move) I have been getting back to fully focusing on VfL Wolfsburg and the season ahead. I just wanted to score my goals.
“It is not that difficult to stay, you also need to show you are a strong character. At this point in time I feel no use in thinking about a transfer away from my club.”
Considering the fact that Juventus signed Milos Krasic this summer and Del Piero is slowly getting back to form, Juve have no need for Dzeko, at least just yet. The Bianconeri prepare to host Roma this weekend in a one of the two big matches in Italy the other being the Milan derby between rivals Inter and Milan.
With Roma also improving considerably since the start of the season, their clash at the Stadio Olimpico will be a battle for a top four spot. Meanwhile, AS Roma captain Francesco Totti has issued a warning to Juventus. Citing Roma’s recent surge inform, the skipper said tomorrow’s match could be their turning point.
“This win [against Fiorentina] allows us to take a step forward in the league and get closer to the higher positions,”
“However we must not get carried away by the recent success.
“Now we think about Juventus – a fundamental game for our season.” Totti said this in an interview with Corrie Dello Sport.
