Inter (Currently down 1 point)
Atalanta (H), Juventus (H), Lazio (A) Chievo Verona (H), Siena (A)
With three out of five home matches left on the schedule, Inter has the advantage over the rest of the competition. Also Jose Mourinho’s club gets the luck of playing three of the five worst teams in the entire league over the final stretch. Atalanta and Siena are also currently in the relegation zone, so Inter should be able to handle the weak opponents. Juventus is the one team that Inter will play that is in the top half of the table and they will have home field advantage in that match. I think Inter can achieve 13 points over this five match stretch.
AC Milan (Currently down 4 points)
Sampdoria (A), Palermo (A), Fiorentina (H), Genoa (A) , Juventus (H)
AC Milan has two dreaded road trips coming up these next two weeks and the worst team they play out of the five teams is only in tenth place right now. They have by far and away the toughest schedule between the facts that they play three away matches and all five matches are against a tough opponent. Out of the five teams they play Genoa is the only one without a great shot of making the top four teams. They are currently nine points back from Sampdoria and Palermo. But with teams on the brink of the Champions League expect AC Milan to drop points the next few weeks. I say only 8 points over the five match stretch.
Roma (Firt place)
Lazio (A), Sampdoria (H), Parma (A), Cagliari (H), Chievo Verona (A)
Roma is first place stuff right now and the club does not have a nightmare schedule like Milan’s, but they do have a decent strength of schedule and three away matches out of five as well. Sampdoria at home seems to be the big match for the squad, but their three away matches will be the true test. Parma has had a fantastic year and is currently in ninth place. Chievo Verona and Lazio are beatable opponents, but we will have to wait and see if Roma can earn at least 7 points on the road. I think they will earn 11 points total and lose the Serie A title by one point to Inter.
But then again I’m just a Yank.
