Double Trouble For Fiorentina

Bad luck never seems to stop haunting Fiorentina as shortly after loosing their talisman, Stevan Jovetic, the Viola have a new problem as Adem Ljajic has also got an injury that will force him to be sidelined.

According to the Florence based club’s official site, the Serbian u-21 international sprained his knee and collateral medial knee ligament which should put him away from the playing field for at least two weeks long.

Ljajic, who was previously being prepared as Jovetic’s deputy for the upcoming season, could be missing Fiorentina’s opening game of the season. This will surely give a bid headache for the Viola’s new manager, Sinijsa Mihaljovic, as he would need to figure out a new strategy in playing the first game without a trequartista.

Previously, after discovering that Jovetic will be out for about 8 months long, Mihaljovic refused to enter the market stating that he already have a proper replacement in Ljajic. Now with both of them are out, the former Catania coach, might be changing his mind and asked the board to get him a player for the position. However, they might probably wait on whether Mihaljovic can come up with a tactical solution to fill the gap.

The Viola supposedly have Adrian Mutu who can play in the position left by Jovetic and Ljajic but the Romanian striker still has to finish his ban after failing a drug test last season.

The latest rumors in Italy suggested that Fiorentina are among three Italian clubs that are considering a bid to acquire, Tottenham Hotspurs’ attacking midfielder, Giovani Dos Santos who doesn’t seem to have a place in the EPL team’s players list for the upcoming season.
