As Roma‘s defeat against Udinese apparently left something more than just a bad taste of defeat for the Giallorossi as internal problems resurfaced again in the team but this time, Francesco Totti was not involved at all.
Reports from Italy already confirmed that Roma’s two summer signings, Pablo Osvaldo and Eric Lamela were the one taking the limelight at the moment, with the former is the one getting into deep problem after Osvaldo was revealed to be laying a punch towards Lamela.
Despite not vividly stating the incidents but Roma have already confirmed that Osvaldo is being given a 10 days suspension because of his ‘violent’ behavior towards Lamela. Reports claimed that the whole mess happened after a heated argument between both players which saw the young Argentinian player, throwing a plastic bottle towards the former Espanyol man before Osvaldo eventually punch his teammates.
“There was this disrespectful gesture from Osvaldo towards a teammate and, on request of the Coach, the player will be sanctioned, “ said Roma’s director, Franco Baldini.
After the incident the two reportedly had already ask for apologies from their tactician Luis Enrique but it doesn’t seem to work well for Osvaldo as the striker was handed the 10 days suspension along with a fine. That punishment pretty much confirmed that the recently called up Italian international won’t be participating in Roma’s next league game against Fiorentina this upcoming weekend, a very difficult game indeed for the capital club.
Moreover, the trouble for Osvaldo reportedly will get bigger as he most likely won’t be used by Italian national team coach, Cesare Prandelli, at least for the Azzurri’s nearest friendly game. This situation is something very common from Prandelli as he seemingly wanted his players to react more professionally in their club if they’re considering into becoming a national team player.
Meanwhile, as for Roma, this situation could very well sparked the internal problems at the club, who for a short time looked to have slowly diminished from Luis Enrique’s squad. However, things will obviously gets more difficult from now on especially after Baldini reportedly has also caught in some row with Enrique, although the director only claimed it as a simply discussion.
“I don’t think it’s a big problem if two people have different opinions when it comes to achieving the same objective. It’s just a chance to discuss,” Baldini added.
