David Albelda feels that many referees feel too much pressure at the Bernabeu

Walking into Santiago Bernabeu is never an easy thing for the opposing team or the referees. As the pressure of the Real Madrid fans are soaring throughout the match, Valencia midfielder David Albelda, feels that the referees still remain influenced by the crowd.

As Los Che prepare to hopefully put another dent in Real Madrid’s impressive start to the season, Albelda feels that the referees can easily cost them the game. With Los Blancos having to suffer their first defeat in a 5-0 embarrassment against Barcelona, Albelda is hopeful that they can add another loss to Madrid’s record.

David Albelda went on to say the following to reporters AS:

“There are many referees who come to the Camp Nou and the Santiago Bernabeu do not always give their best performance. The referees are people, and they may think it is hard to decide against such a powerful club. It is normal that referees are affected by the pressure of the environment that exists in the Bernabeu. When you face a team like Real Madrid, playing them after a defeat, does not benefit us at all. It is also difficult to find many matches where they have dropped points at the Bernabeu. However, we arrive here in good form, and confident.”
