Inter head into tomorrow’s Champions League return leg fixture against CSKA Moscow with a comfortable 1-0 advantage. The Nerazzurri will also be encouraged by news of Mario Balotelli’s inclusion in the Inter squad. Balotelli will be making his second appearance for Inter since March 7th after publicly apologizing to coach Jose Mourinho for his indifferent behavior and attitude.
Inter are in a perfect position to end their poor European record this season and their Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto’o who is a doubt for tomorrow’s fixture has called on Inter fans to help the club overcome CSKA at the Luzhniki stadium.
“It was all incredible,” Eto’o beamed on the Inter Channel.
“Now, like it happened at the Stamford Bridge, we await all of them in Moscow because there will be a semi-final spot at stake.”
CSKA although a very unpredictable side, should not be too much of a hustle for Inter. With the likes of Balotelli, Milito and Pandev in attack, Inter should be able to get the job done. My only worry is the defense. Inter were without Lucio, and Maicon for Saturday’s game and despite winning, their presence was duly missed.
When coaching Chelsea and Porto, Jose Mourinho never failed to get them through the quarter final stage and there is a very big possibility that he is not about to stop with Inter. Inter should go into the game with the aim of scoring an early goal. That will give the home side more pressure to score and in the process of searching for that goal, leave them exposed at the back providing Inter with more opportunities.
CSKA however have play maker Keisuke Honda who has impressed so far this season. The Japanese can partner well up front with Yevgeny Aldonin to provide the Russian side with a decent attack . That said, i predict a 2-0 win for Inter with Milito and Pandev getting on the score sheet this time.
