Comeback Canales Believes In Europa League Success

Valencia’s young attacking midfielder, Sergio Canales, share out his believes over his side’s chance to advance into Europa league final despite having a 4-2 deficit against Atletico Madrid in the first leg.

Canales, who has just returned into action after a long spell on injury, stated that El Che possessed the talent along with quality to overcome the two goals deficit especially if the supporters at Mestalla gives their strong support.

It seems that Valencia’s weekend success in beating Real Betis 4-0 has aided Canales’ believes on El Che’s potential in turning things around against Atletico this midweek. Furthermore, the Spanish under 21 star also urged his teammates to have the same confidence as he is, because believing in their own strength is also important to boost up their performance in the second leg of that Europa League semifinal.

“The tie is still alive, out aim is to get to the final and we know that this requires winning a very hard game and giving all that we have. The team has desire, excitement and strength. Atletico Madrid had tremendous support in the first leg that helped them to win. A hostile atmosphere for them and the fans getting behind us is always an aid in games like Thursday’s. This team has to be believed in, because we are third in La Liga and playing the semi final of this competition,” Canales stated.

Beside sharing his views about Valencia’s chance in the Europa League, Canales also stated his delight of returning back into the starting eleven after being out for around six months because of injury. The youngster admitted that he still doesn’t feel that sharp as just yet, but is confident that he can find his form back in no time.

“It was important to get back into the first eleven after so many months. I felt pretty good, although I still have some way to go to get up to full speed. I hope that I will keep getting better from here on in,” the midfielder added.
