Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas claimed his new coach from Inter Milan Jose Mourinho is a “phenomenon in every sense of the word”. The World Cup winning goalie did not actually reference Harry Potter in his statement, but the Golden Glove winner did suggest that his Los Galicticos side’s new coach was certainly special:
If you talk to him for 15 minutes, you only need one to realise what he’s like. He is a phenomenon in every sense of the word. We are doing very well with him. The team gradually plays more games and continues to grow. It isn’t easy. Our age average is very young and that is something very noticeable at Real Madrid, but demands are high here and they help you fight to the end of each season.
And Real Madrid is off to a promising start with third place results on the table at the moment and just two points behind first place Valencia. The club has a critical Champions League match coming up against AC Milan, but the good news for Los Blancos is that they are currently 2-0 and in first place in their group. Mourinho knows all about preparring his side for the big matches and his resume speaks for itself when it comes to Champions League success with franchises that have recently lacked that high level prior to the arrival of the Special One.
Real Madrid will look to continue to climb up the board with two winnable league matches coming up against Malaga on the road this weekend and Racing Santander at home the week after, Look for Mournho’s new side to continue to move up the league table.
