November 29th should be a date already marked on your calender. If your a Yank (like me) you might be thinking is this the date for Thanksgiving Day? Not really. Turkey Day is actually three days before this important date, but in a way this event is a lot like Thanksgiving Day.
November 29th is a holiday of sorts because it marks the day that we are treated to the first of two Barcelona and Real Madrid matches. These two clubs will slowly parade onto the pitch like Thanksgiving Day floats and once all the pregame pageantry is over in Estadio Camp Nou, these clubs will engage in a vicious battle that could decide the La Liga title this year.
And we the fans will feast on the excitement of watching new boys Ibrahimovic and Ronaldo try to outdue one another or young boys Messi and Benzema attempting to set up a game-changing goal or even old boys Thierry Henry and Raul trying to put away one more La Liga game-winner. With all these fantastic players matching up November 29th is a sacred day. So please mark it on your calender, right now.
So you might be wondering why am I talking about a game that is not even going on this weekend?
Because it’s that big of a deal. There I said it. And if you are thinking this then you likely did not obey my last command and MARK the game on the calender.
It’s the Clash of the Titans, people, and it’s only two months away.
So get excited!
