With Sebastian Giovinco on loan at Parma and Cristian Poulsen on the verge of signing for Liverpool, Juventus is indeed undergoing a major facelift ahead of the new season. Reports out of Turin now say that yet another star Mauro Camoranesi is set to finalise his move to EPL outfit Birmingham City.
The 33 year old Argentina born Italian has spent the last 8 years with the Bianconeri where he won a number of trophies including the infamous 05 and 06 scudettos and the 2006 World Cup with the Azzurri’s.
A deal between the two club’s has already been reached and all that is left is to finalise details of the move. This is according to Vlado Borozan the mediator for both clubs.
“The agreement for the transfer of Camoranesi has been reached,” Borozan told tuttomercatoweb.
“On Monday we’ll go to England to arrange the final details, we are doing very well.
“Camoranesi said yes and is excited about this new adventure.”
Camoranesi was part of Juve’s golden generation that also included Nedved, Cannavaro and Zambrotta. The Old Lady have gone on to struggle since revealations by the FIGC (Italian FA) of their involvement in th 2006 match fixing scandal.
Club captain and hero Alessandro Del Piero has however, stepped up to the plate and to be a major inspiration in their pre-season friendlies and Europa League fixtures. It ow remains to be sen whether the Bianconeri can provide Inter with the stiff challenge that everyone knows they are capable of.
