With a year left on his current contract with Serie A side Juventus, former France international David Trezeguet is a worried a man. The 32 year old does not know if next season could be his last in the Italian league.
Once a very feared striker, Trezeguet has experienced indifference in his form that has seen him have come on a substitute in Juve’s recent matches. Such factors have led Brazilian outfit Corinthians to express their interest in the former European championship winner.
“I need to play consistently, which is something that did not happen over the past two years.
“I am convinced of it, I have no doubts. But if I am not playing, other people will end up developing doubts and thinking that I am at the end of my career.”
As for his move away from Turin this is what he had to say.
“An experience in Brazil is tempting. But it’s not sure yet that I will be leaving. However, it’s not up to me only.
“The club and the coach must make up their minds. They just came in and we should give them time to work.
“I am pulling the plug, I’m going on holiday and the ball is now in my father Jorge’s court. We’ll see what happens in due time.”
To be honest i think that Trezeguet is not of much importance to Juventus. The Bianconeri should instead focus on bringing new talent to the squad and allow the old dogs to retire. May be then the Italian giants will be able to contest for the Scudetto.
A move to the Paulista would therefore be the best decision for Trezeguet. Just look at Robinho, Adriano and Ronaldo, these players revived their careers after disastrous spells abroad and may be Trezeguet can do the same.
