Borriello Eying Redemtion Against Napoli

Marco Borriello (Roma), NOVEMBER 23, 2010 - Football : ChampionsAS Roma’s 5-3 defeat against Inter Milan last weekend still left a bitter taste for the capital club players, including for Marco Borriello, who despite his disappointment still believes that they will quickly rebound after that defeat.

Borriello’s confidence will definitely be tested this weekend as the Giallorossi are about to face another tough task as they host the current league runners up, Napoli, at Olympico.

Despite knowing the difficulty of the , especially the fact that the defeat against Inter last weekend could trouble the team’s mentality, Borriello is confident that his team will overcome their mental block and beat Napoli. Being confident doesn’t make the former Ac Milan striker forgot the threat that Napoli could bring as the 28-years-old warn that his teammates should pay a close attention on the Partenopei’s Uruguayan bomber, Edinson Cavani.

“It’ll be a nice game, However, we certainly won’t start the game as a beaten side, We respect Napoli but I’m convinced that we can get back on the right path against them. That’s what we need right now,” Borriello stated, “Cavani is in a moment of extraordinary form where he scores with every touch of the ball.”

Surely Borriello’s confident need to be applied on the pitch as another defeat would really mean that Roma’s title shot this season are getting slimmer especially since Napoli are one of the current title challenger. Playing at home, the Giallorossi are definitely have a very good shout in taking all three points from their visitor, however on the game the Italian international hopes that the keeper won’t be keeping him of the scoring charts just like in previous games that he played.

“It’s just a shame that opposing ‘keepers are performing miracles to keep me out right now.Gianluca Curci against Sampdoria, Julio Cesar against Inter, Neuer for Germany,” Borriello added.

After getting a decent playing time with the Italy national side on the midweek, Borriello will surely keen to keep his place in the Azzurri rooster and the only way in doing it is performing well in big games such as the upcoming match against Napoli. Should all Roma players are as motivated as the Italian international, there’s a very big chance that the Giallorossi will be able to get back on winning ways as they have a very impressive record at home.
